THE DIVINE FRAGRANCE GUIDE

Discover your
scent language.

Follow the notes you love.
Choose the style that feels like you.

Floral

Think rose, jasmine and peony. Soft and airy or rich and expressive.

Woody

Think sandalwood, cedar and vetiver. Warm, earthy and grounded.

Fresh

Think citrus, green notes and marine accords. Bright and refreshing.

Amber & spice

Think vanilla, resins and warm spices. Rich, enveloping and expressive.

What's in a name?

EDT, EDP and extrait describe fragrance formats. The formula, notes and your skin all influence how a scent wears.

Concentration alone doesn't guarantee strength or longevity.

Eau de Toilette (EDT)

Often a lighter interpretation, with a bright opening. A good place to start if you enjoy an easy everyday scent.

Eau de Parfum (EDP)

Typically more concentrated than EDT, often with more depth. Try it on your skin to discover its character and how it develops.

Parfum & extrait

Usually a more concentrated format. A small application may be enough; it can wear close to the skin as well as feel rich.

Cologne, attar & perfume oils

Traditional eau de cologne is usually a light, fresh format, though “cologne” can also be a general name for fragrance. Attars and perfume oils are oil-based fragrances; check each product's ingredients and directions.

Top, heart & base notes

Top notes make the first impression. Heart notes reveal the main character as the opening settles. Base notes provide the lasting foundation. Allow a fragrance time to develop before deciding.

How do I choose a stronger fragrance?

Look at the scent profile as well as the format. Rich woods, amber and spices can feel more intense. Try a small amount first: temperature, skin and application can change the experience.

How do I choose the right scent or strength?

Start with the notes you enjoy: floral, woody, fresh, amber or spice. Consider the product description and concentration together. Temperature, skin and application can affect the experience, so allow a scent time to develop before deciding.

How should I store and use fragrance?

Keep the bottle closed and away from direct sunlight, heat and large temperature changes. Follow the directions on the packaging. Store products out of reach of children. For oil-based fragrances, use the application instructions provided for that specific product.

Are essential oils the same as perfume oils or attar?

No. Essential oils are concentrated aromatic extracts from plants. Attars and perfume oils are fragrance products made for their stated purpose. An essential oil is not automatically suitable for direct skin application: follow the product label, including any dilution instructions.
